Trump Organization Attempted to Hire Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business accelerated its hiring of overseas employees on short-term work permits this period, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the same, a report released recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the business aimed to hire at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for short-term roles at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of applications for temporary work visas covering workers including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the organization, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had attempted to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for temporary positions at his Florida resort, according to labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has involved the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and journalists.

Overall, the business aimed to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the presidency, from his first term and during 2025.

Significantly, the former president was questioned by some in the GOP this period for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to construct a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that well,” he stated to a interviewer after it was implied that foreign workers lower the pay of American employees.

The administration declined a request for comment, and the business did not immediately respond to an request for information.
