Much like the recent storm tore through the north-west the night before, the home side swept the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three goal victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their title credentials as they consolidated their position at the league summit.

Consecutive Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome signalled back-to-back WSL losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the initial occasion since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the top team with their championship aspirations severely dented.
