News has broken that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Major Reunion for Fans
Lawrence and Hutcherson are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Industry whispers indicate their appearance will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, as the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This marks the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
Exploring the New Story
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It will be the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
