David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published more than 40 books combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
