Arne Slot Asserts He Feels Secure and Retains Liverpool's Support Following PSV Humiliation

The Liverpool head coach conceded that it's expected for doubts to be raised about his future following another heavy defeat versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds suffered their ninth loss in 12 matches, representing the club's poorest streak after being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a punishing night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I'm fine, I've received significant support from management,” Slot commented.

“It's important to turn it around and earn three points obviously but when you're in a managerial role and underperforming then it is normal that doubts arise.”

He continued, “I am OK with my situation. This isn't the first time I've found myself in a tough spot but it's crucial that we turned it around.”

Conversations with Club Management

When asked to provide details on his discussions with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They assist to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they don't phone me every single minute each day to say they trust me.”

He mentioned, “Through standard exchanges I perceive the confidence. However I've not talked to them after this game yet so we'll see.”

Familiar Problems and Player Reaction

The manager highlighted familiar shortcomings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League defeat, specifically missed opportunities and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his assessment of the club’s predicament.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I'm telling that to everyone,” Jones stated.

“It is not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to think about it. I'm beyond being angry inside. I’m at the point now where I simply lack the vocabulary.”

He added, “It's difficult because I’m playing for the club I love. I'm a supporter, and I’ve seen Liverpool for years.”

“In a long, long time, I've not seen a Liverpool team experiencing a period of this nature with outcomes this poor.”

He stated, “But we continue to wear the crest on our shirts. And until it is removed, we'll continue to fight.”

“We’re going to try to help the side return to the top, demonstrate to all once more what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the greatest side in the planet.”

“At this moment, things are bad and it must improve.”
